A quick message from the Waxahachie Police Dept.

Please be aware of your surroundings during this holiday season.

Make sure all your valuables are out of sight when your out shopping or dinning.

The large parking lots along 287 and 77 have seen a large increase in vehicles being broken into between the hours of 5-8pm.

Typically the people drive up to a vehicle, jump out,  smash a window,  grab valuables, and take off.

A message from the Waxahachie Police Dept. Other crime stories on the Help solve this crime page.

We are currently investigating a rash of car break-in’s at area restaurants. During dinner hours , thieves are breaking out windows of vehicles in which items such as laptops, purses and briefcases have been left out on the seats. The hardest hit areas are the restaurants located along the 287 Bypass service road near Hwy 77. We urge patrons of these businesses to remove or hide their valuables and personal items before going inside.
